Who We Are

Phil and James, the co-founders of Storge, are dedicated to creating an inclusive community for LGBTQ+ families, inspired by their own journey to parenthood — by parents for parents.


  • Co-Founder

    Phil is a dedicated advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, having actively contributed to the Trevor Project and Family Equality, raising over $1 million in combined contributions. As a husband and father of toddler triplets, Phil understands the unique challenges and joys of modern family life.

    Professionally, Phil has excelled in roles that leverage his talent for building relationships and developing effective strategies. As a University Ambassador at the University of Phoenix, he was instrumental in increasing a diverse talent pool through market research and community involvement. Phil also brought his expertise to Randstad, the global leader in HR and technological solutions, where he provided full-cycle recruitment delivery functions and has been recognized as a 2020 Expert Achievers Circle (EAC) recipient.

  • Co-Founder

    Jim DeCarlo Schnepper is the Co-Founder of Storge, a groundbreaking social network for modern families dedicated to fostering family equality and providing resources for LGBTQ+ families and providing a broad range other family planning needs. As a purpose-driven leader, Jim is passionate about creating inclusive environments where every individual can thrive. His goal is to integrate social impact into business strategies, ensuring that success is measured not just by financial gains but by the positive impact on communities and the world.

    Before founding Storge, Jim served as the CEO and President of GAF, North America's largest roofing and waterproofing manufacturer and a subsidiary of Standard Industries. During his tenure, he led GAF to double its revenue through innovation and sustainable practices. He initiated the company's first employee resource group program, launched sustainability and community engagement initiatives, and created StreetBond to combat urban heat islands. These efforts earned GAF recognition for excellence in sustainability and innovation.

    In addition to his role at GAF, Jim is proud to serve on the Board of Directors at The Trevor Project, where he advocates for LGBTQ+ youth. His career has also included leadership roles at Standard Industries, where he provides strategic guidance and insights. Jim's expertise spans business transformation, sustainable manufacturing, and social impact, and he is dedicated to promoting family equality and civil rights.

    Beyond his professional achievements, Jim is deeply committed to volunteer work and advocacy. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, he actively supports initiatives that foster diversity, inclusion, and equal rights. He is passionate about creating supportive environments for queer youth and modern families. His personal interests include family life, supporting LGBTQ+ youth, and driving innovation and sustainability in business.

    Jim holds an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and has completed an executive development program at the Wharton School. These educational experiences have equipped him with the knowledge and skills to lead transformative change and drive sustainable growth in the organizations he serves.

As parents of triplets, Phil and James created Storge to share the support, resources, and community that they wished they had during their journey. Their mission is to make family-building easier and more inclusive for LGBTQ+ couples.
